Base Attack Bonus (BAB) defines a creature's basic ability to land a damaging hit on an enemy if no other bonuses or modifiers would play a role. Every six points of Base Attack Bonus will allow the character to perform a second attack when attacking as a Full-Round Action.
From here, a level 20 fighter with 24 strength, a +6 belt, legendary proportions, weapon training +4, greater weapon focus, and a +5 weapon has an attack bonus of roughly +42. Throw in those buff characters, and you are well over +60.
At BAB 16, your attacks happen at +16/+11/+6/+1, as listed in the table. It is your base attack bonus (to hit) and each / is another attack. For example, at level 18 it says +18/+13/+8/+3. This means you get 4 attacks, first one at full BAB, then each iterative attack after that gets a -5.

Base Attack Bonus (BAB) will go up accordingly, and so will your number of attacks. Spell level stacking was, however, limited at last count, so you probably want to be more of a martial type.
