With the best spell list, a functionally infinite list of spells known, and a dizzying number of build options, Wizards can do basically anything in the game, and can often do so better than classes which are specifically built to do it.
I'll provide you with this lovely list of every race in D&D 3.5 without a Level Adjustment. As stated, all of those races carry 0 LA, which means that they will level up as quickly as others, but also don't have overpowered statlines, which is generally what you want from your races.
