7 wrz 2013 · I had toyed with the idea of making 'shower cap' type covers for the port hole bungs with elasticated backs but I'm not sure this would look right at all. So is anybody aware of a good company that I could send them to that could re-cover the bungs at a reasonable cost.
This tutorial will provide the basics, optional material and what ultimately worked for me. What I envisioned was a 3 dimensional porthole with material that mimicked glass and rivets as well. The hardest part was finding what looked like glass, but wasn't glass, that I could cut. Clear acrylic sheet!

20 wrz 2020 · Porthole Screen Project. My porthole screens were starting to deteriorate after 10 years. The old screens were a fiberglass mesh. I looked into replacements, but could not be sure of pothole manufacturer or their exact size. What I did find seemed to be quite expensive at $40 to $50 each. I decided to use bronze window screen as a replacement.
