5 maj 2014 · CO2 lasers are very efficient, but not *that* efficient. For comparison, HeNe lasers are less than 1% efficient, while CO2 lasers are typically 15~20% efficient.

This has made diode lasers quite popular in the hobbyist community, or even for those who want to start small enterprises. Compact, lightweight, and robust.
