Diminished chords are some of the easiest to build chords from an intervallic standpoint because they only use the minor 3rd interval. A diminished triad is a minor chord with a b5: 1 b3 b5. A diminished 7th chord is a minor 7 chord with a b5 and bb7: 1 b3 b5 bb7. Symbol: Dim7 or °7.
