In this module on high school dance, you will explore the revised high school dance TEKS, identify the benefits of the standards for dance education in Texas, and develop short lessons based on the high school dance TEKS.
Dance units: High school levels. Grades 9 - 12 Arts. These Dance units are for High School Level students. Several are aligned with the Common Core and all are aligned with the Blueprint for Teaching and Learning in Dance.
Classwork will deepen students' alignment, strength, flexibility, coordination, rhythm, dynamics and spatial awareness. The concepts of ballet and codified classical modern dance are explored, along with somatic awareness, efficient athleticism, and creative voice.
