27 sty 2010 · Before I bought them I called Glock and asked them whether the barrels are interchangeable between Gen 3 and Gen 4. I was told emphatically no. After I bought them I started comparing parts. One of the new features is the double captive recoil spring, similar to the spring of the G26/G27.
They are nominally the same parts, but a lot of pro shooters are reporting that, on average, gen4 barrels are closer to match barrel quality than older gen3 barrels. This probably means that the same applies to newer gen3 barrels also, but I am not sure.

7 cze 2011 · The difference in the two finishes Gen 3 vs Gen 4 is the top coat ! Gen 3 finishes were tennifer with a Black Oxide top coat. The Gen 4’s are Tennifer with a zinc phosphate top coat. According to Glock, the new finish is slightly harder.
21 lis 2019 · Gen 4 pistols have the different grip texture (known technically as “RTF3”), dual spring Recoil Spring Assembly unit (with frame and slide changes to accommodate), larger & reversible mag catch (not ambidextrous as some claim), and four back straps.
