There are some attempts to curry favour with nu-metal fans, but actually if you turn up the volume and really listen, Diabolous In Musica is still a very Slayer album, with nasty riffing, aggressive vocals, cynical lyrics, concussive drumming, and excellent cover art.

13 lis 2020 · Diabolus In Musica is unique for me in that I can't pinpoint any good qualities as such, but then I can't give it a zero as that would imply. This album has something that at least prevents it from being a total write-off; it's the scattered pieces that while too small to identify, when put together make something of value.
Choć Slayer przeszedł przemiany industrialno-metalowe, to nadal jest to Slayer, ale odświeżony. Może to i dobrze. 11 utworów, jest w czym wybierać. Ja osobiście twierdzę, że „Diabolus in Musica” jest znacznie gorszą płytą od opluwanej „Divine Intervention”, ale na pewno znacznie lepszą niż płyta zawierająca covery.
24 paź 2024 · I would say Diabolus in Musica features one good Slayer song, two merely forgettable ons, six that are very bad and two that are downright humiliating. The opener Bitter Piece is, by far, the best song on the record and it’s not even that good.
"Diabolus In Musica" is really a unique album. I can't think of anything else that sounds like it, not even anything Slayer. They wrote it a time where they were pissed off and tired of music and the music business, but that doesn't really show.
