29 maj 2007 · Some things to have in mind... - It is only a No-CD patch. That means that if you have a valid license, you'll be able to install Diablo II & LOD, get the patch and play it without the CD. - You'll need the CD Key, though. And, of course, two people with the same CD Key won't be able to play on internet.
28 paź 2011 · With this patch, players are no longer required to have the original Diablo II or expansion Diablo II Lord of Destruction CD in the CD-rom drive to play the game. Instructions on how to do this can be found in the updated patch.txt file in your Diablo II.
When LoD is installel, you need the LoD CD. Obviously you cannot have both CD's in the same drive at the same time. That is why you are prompted to insert the D2 Play Disc when you install LoD, to copy over the necessary files to play through the original game with only the LoD CD in the drive.
Patch 1.12 - If all required Diablo 2 '.MPQ' files are installed on the hard drive, the game will no longer require the CD to play. For users that originally performed a 'Full Installation' and wish to run without the CD, all '.MPQ' files should be copied from the Diablo 2 CDs to the Diablo 2 directory.
To install the original Diablo II (2000), use the links below. Note: The installer will install version 1.14b. Once installed, please launch the game and log in to Battle.net. This will prompt you to patch to the latest version 1.14d.
For users that originally performed a 'Full Installation' and wish to run without the CD, all '.MPQ' files should be copied from the Diablo 2 CDs to the Diablo 2 directory. Most users will only need to copy D2Music.mpq from the Diablo 2 Play CD and/or D2xMusic.mpq from the Lord of Destruction CD.
