For the longest time I have thought Lundy knows Dexter was the BHB, but for some reason let's him continue his kills, because of Deb? because he agrees with what Dexter does? Because he enjoys the study?

It's just lazy, a total cop out. The episodes preceeding it are truly great but the finale just drops the ball hard by having Lila killed Doakes. If Dexter had broken the code for the first time in the s2 finale by killing Doakes it would've been quite powerful and could've sent the show down a completely different, better path.

I havent really noticed that much hate for Season two. It seems to be the middle of the 5 in almost all of the "rank them" threads that I've seen. 1 and 4 share the top two spots, and 3 and 5 share the bottom two. It seems to be the "average" season for almost everyone.
SPOILER Season 4, Episode 12. I’m on the episode where trinity kills Rita and it’s painful to watch Dexter’s mistakes unfold to resulting in Rita’s death. I know this was needed for the development of Dexter’s character but I hate it. I’ve never seen anybody called out for posting a “spoiler” warning .
