Detroit EMS. Hey folks, I have a few questions for those either with DEMS or in the know. I’m a paramedic with 3 years on from Ohio and scheduled to take the PAT on Wednesday. From the announcement I received, the academy is starting 1/22, does anyone know the process after the PAT?
25 kwi 2010 · Highland Park and Hamtramck are completely separate cities within Detroit, HFD does some EMS when they feel like it, but they are BLS and 80-90% of the time give it to a private service they have a contract with.
Detroit ems is the current highest paying place in the area for base/new/newish emts and medics (private critical care and private experienced medics out earn them).

There were multiple wrong experiences everyday. From abysmal medical care and knowledge to outright reckless disregard for personal and public safety.
25 lip 2012 · EMS Training Institute is offering an online EMT option. Although they did seem very nice on the phone when I called the other day, I don't feel that comfortable letting him take an online course especially in this field.
