  2. Destrehan Plantation (French: Plantation Destrehan) is an antebellum mansion, in the French Colonial style, modified with Greek Revival architectural elements. It is located in southeast Louisiana, near the town of the same name, Destrehan. During the 19th century, the plantation was a major producer of indigo and then sugarcane.

  3. Built in 1787, Destrehan Plantation is the oldest documented plantation home in the lower Mississippi Valley. The plantation is open seven (7) days a week with the exception of major holidays from 9am to 5:30pm. The first tour begins at 9:30am. Duration: 1-2 hours.
