Summer semester loans require a separate application from the fall/spring. Once Texas Tech University has processed your private education loan, only reductions or cancellations can be made by emailing finaid.advisor@ttu.edu. Increases require a new loan application be submitted to the lender.

Direct Parent PLUS Loans are offered by the Department of Education to parents of dependent students. Direct Grad PLUS Loans are offered by the Department of Education to graduate/professional students. Apply Now
These loans provide the extra money the student needs to bridge the gap between the cost of education and the amount of financial aid awarded. They are a private alternative loan or a Federal Graduate Plus loan.
Students may utilize the PTL a maximum of three times throughout their tenure at Texas Tech University, unless their fourth or more term is their term of graduation. The PTL will be available prior to the first class day of the term.
