29 lis 2023 · The Army's Nine Base Name Changes Are Complete. On October 27th, 2023, Fort Gordon, GA, was redesignated as Fort Eisenhower. This change completed the Federally mandated change by the Naming Commission. As a reminder, the list of the eight other Army bases changed under the same mandate.

LaPlante directed all DoD organizations to begin full implementation of the Department of Defense Naming Commission recommendations. This directive includes the renaming of nine Army installations (listed below).
