25 wrz 2019 · The Icom IC-PW1 amplifier is a great amplifier until the power supply fails. This is a fear of most PW1 owners since replacements run $3122 plus shipping. The good news is that this 2250 watt (45V @ 50A) switch mode power supply can be repaired and made stronger than new.
A friend of mine had problems with this low voltage power supply, which is apparently not manufactured by Icom, and very hard to get to. Two of the resistors in this power supply are under-rated and will burn the circuit board if the amplifier is plugged in for extended periods of time (weeks/months).

18 sty 2016 · I just repaired an ICOM PW1 amplifier for a fellow amatuer radio operator. He uses it with his ICOM 7300 and 7610 transceivers. Fortunately, it was not a power supply issue.
