Summit Elevation: Del Campo Peak (6613') Round Trip Distance: 11 miles. Summit pinnacle: Class 3 - 4 Rock Scrambling. The Standard Route. Depending on the year, the trail to Gothic Basin should be clear and easy to follow to its end at Foggy Lake by the end of July.
Beautiful views at km ~4.5-5.0 (when transitioning to above treeline), mostly snow free except for some snow bridges when crossing the big streams coming from the basin (need to be careful in a few days - see pictures). After the streams then the trail gets fully covered in snow, with some traverses to get to the basin.
The trail is well maintained although slightly overgrown in a few spots, and occasionally very steep. A half moon was visible over the mountain for my entire ascent to the lake. There are only 2 snow patches left on the South face of Del Campo Peak, 3-4 on Gothic Peak, and one large one on the saddle between hugging the edge of Foggy Lake.
Hiking Del Campo Peak. A scramble to Del Campo Peak from Gothic Basic. Class 3 or 4. Helmets, gear, and technical expertise required. If you still have energy left after reaching Gothic Basin, search for a light boot trail up towards Del Campo Peak. The trail leads to the base of the talus.

We climbed up the Gothic Basin trail, dumped our backpacks at the lake, and climbed right into the clouds, ascending the main route on a firm snowfield. Midway, we heard a slide break above us, but maybe a little left.
