This article addresses the current state of the literature regarding the modeling and assessment of performance in a work role. The focus is on individual performance. It is the basic building block on which the entire economy is based (Kim & Ployhart 2014).
Our study analyzed 175 articles that investigated the theme job performance. The results showed the importance of performance in organizational studies, especially in understanding which factors (or variables) contribute to an increase in job performance.
