23 lip 2022 · You can format a drive via the Format utility, Disk Management console, and Command Prompt in Windows. However, only the Command Prompt lets you implement FAT32 as the file system on drives that exceed 32GB. That said, formatting a drive in Windows doesn’t completely wipe your data.

14 lip 2023 · For Windows 10 and 11, start with the recovery drive or disk management options. For the recovery drive approach, simply move everything to an external drive and then the original drive will wipe after that.
28 gru 2021 · Windows's diskpart has a clean all command that will overwrite selected disk with zeros. You have to boot from a Windows installer USB though or connect the disk to another PC, because you can't erase Windows while it's running.

If, however, you need to securely erase the data from a drive---say you're tossing the drive or giving it away---consider a third-party tool like Eraser or DBan. Fortunately, Windows makes formatting drives pretty easy.
