4 cze 2014 · In mathematics, a so-called right-handed system is used: X increases from left to right, "across the page". Y increases from bottom to top, "up the page". Z increases from towards the observer, "away from the page". B increases counter-clockwise from the positive X-axis, about the Z-axis.
The coordinates are often denoted by the letters x, y, and z. The axes may then be referred to as the x-axis, y-axis, and z-axis, respectively. Then the coordinate planes can be referred to as the xy-plane, yz-plane, and xz-plane.
The y-axis is extended from the geocenter along a line perpendicular from the x-axis in the same mean equatorial plane toward 90° East longitude. That means that the positive end of the y-axis intersects the actual Earth in the Indian Ocean.
In the example above, the two axes are labeled X and Y. The origin is located in the lower left hand corner. Unit distance traveled along each axis from the origin is shown. In this coordinate system, the value associated with the X-axis is given first, following by the value assigned from the Y-axis.
Cartesian Coordinates. Using Cartesian Coordinates we mark a point on a graph by how far along and how far up it is: The point (12,5) is 12 units along, and 5 units up. They are also called Rectangular Coordinates because it is like we are forming a rectangle. X and Y Axis. The left-right (horizontal) direction is commonly called X.
