19 maj 2023 · The number of skin layers that exists depends on how you count them. You have three main layers of skin—the epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis (subcutaneous tissue). Within these layers are additional layers. If you count the layers within the layers, the skin has eight or even 10 layers.
The most superficial layer of the skin is the epidermis which is attached to the deeper dermis. Accessory structures, hair, glands, and nails, are found associated with the skin. The deeper layer of skin is well vascularized (has numerous blood vessels) and is superficial to the hypodermics.
