4 mar 2021 · Does anyone here have any opinion on the DCM Time Window vintage speakers? I was in a hi-fi store and heard them playing quite by accident and was amazed at the sound. I had gone to hear some restored Ohms and the DCMs killed them, especially for orchestral music.
30 sie 2005 · Aug 29, 2005. #3. Not strange at all. Dang nifty. The original Timewindow (retrospectively called "Series 1", I believe) had two Philips polycarbonate dome tweeters and two Philips (I believe) 6-1/2" woofers each loaded by a separate TL. They were made of cardboard (like Sonotube) with an unusual cross section and cost $400 a pop ca. 1977.
6 kwi 2024 · I bought a pair of vintage DCM Time Windows about a year ago for $150 from a local vintage collector. Serial numbers are 14xxx and are sequential. Seller told me he believes they're all original and were never refurbished in any way, at least to best of his knowledge.
6 kwi 2017 · DCM's Time Frame TF1000 is a tall, floor-standing loudspeaker that bears a superficial resemblance to a planar speaker. In fact, it is a relatively conventional box loudspeaker, using a shallow but wide six-sided cabinet with a depth that tapers from 7.5" deep at the base to 5" at the top.
1 mar 2018 · There was a lot of hype with the DCM Timewindow. Much of it due to clever advertising and a few 'rave' reviews. Some of it deserved, most not. Having owned TWs, they are more flawed than not, but very interesting speakers, nonetheless.

31 maj 2021 · I know you're not asking me, but the TF400s are very good speakers. They lack a little of the magic of the 500/600 because they have smaller enclosures and don't have the rear/rear-side-firing tweeters, but I think all of the coaxial designs from DCM sound far better than they have any right to.
