My suggestion would be to buy from a reputable dealer and avoid anything cheap if you are dead set on the ankle. I would personally go with AIWB and just wear a little looser clothing if feasible. I'm also a slight build but no one every knows I have my S&W Shield even with a cheap nylon holster.
I was in a situation once where I drew my gun from an ankle holster. For what it's worth, seriously consider carrying on your waist if possible, unless you want to ankle carry for some very specific reason.
I currently wear an ankle holster at the top of my calf right below the knee like that, it's fantastic. More comfortable than the thigh and less likely to show than the ankle. I don't find a significant weight difference but I carry my aluminum colt cobra, which is really light.
I've had a Davis .38 for a few years. It's not a range gun at all, I consider it a "Bi^ch, get off of me gun". It does ok in an ankle holster.
4 cze 2024 · I've carried a High Standard 22 Mag derringer since the mid 70's. Pocket carry in an old eyeglass case, but I also have an ankle holster. Don't need to cock it, it is double action only. I usually keep it loaded with 22 Mag Snakeshot in the first barrel nd 22 Mag Hollowpoint in the second barrel.
Any one have any experience with Cimmaron Derringers? Thinking about getting one in 38 Sp. to use as a back up piece. Probably get an ankle holster for it...
3 wrz 2010 · The Black Derringer looks OK but the chrome is more spiffy looking in the nicely browned holster. On the pratical side, I feel that the .22 LR is the best caliber of the 5 offered in the small frame Derringers. Neither the .22 mag or the Centerfire calibers offer the econimical pratice of the .22LR.
