Dogs can be assigned as a Slayer task from Turael, Spria and Mazchna at level 15 combat. A wide variety of dogs can be found across Gielinor. Most dogs, except those in Brimhaven Dungeon, are aggressive and they all attack with melee.

In general every barrage task is worth extending for xp and all others are not. If you want to go into it deep here's a spreadsheet that calculates everything for you to determine max efficiency. You'll probably need to adjust the xp rates to things you can expect on each task.
Wildy slayer is unmatched, free supplies (blighted restores/mantas/anglers), almost every task is cannon-able or barrage-able, the new wildy weapons give crazy combat exp/hr, and the ammount of points earned per task allows you to skip very frequently, you can basically pick your tasks once you have a slayer point bank built up.
I have the slayer task for dogs, I have 40 att,str,def so I wouldn't be able to do hellhounds effectively and they're the only dogs I can think of. What am I missing?
A Slayer assignment is given by a Slayer master. Killing the assigned monsters grants players Slayer experience. Some monsters can only be killed using the Slayer skill. For a list of these monsters, see Slayer monsters.
