You must be comfortable working with a multi-section web-based Application form and with scanning and uploading images of supporting documentation (including your birth certificate) to be submitted with the Application form.
(1) an applicant must share at least a parent, grandparent or great–grandparent with a blood relative DAR member, using the same ancestor. (2) The long form application used as reference must be properly documented with dates, places of birth, death and marriage.

How do I join the DAR? Get Started by Filling out the Membership Interest Form. Any woman 18 years or older who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American independence is eligible to join the DAR.
These instructions are designed to help you successfully complete and submit your DAR application. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Electronic Application Process can only be used for Ancestors that are already fully established with the DAR.
When filled out and properly endorsed, the application should be sent to the Registrar General, NSDAR, 1776 DStreet, NW, Washington, DC 20006–5303, with the necessary fee and dues. When approved by the National Board, a copy will be returned to the Registrar of the Chapter or to the individual, if joining At Large.
