This angel tells Daniel that the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding him for twenty-one days, the duration of Daniel's mourning. Daniel's mourning could be connected with his repentance and sorrow over Israel's unfaithfulness ( Daniel 9:1-19 ).
