29 lut 2016 · Hi, I have read the review of Henry Gilbey regarding the Daiwa Caldia 3000A, but also look for the option of the Caldia 3000SHA, this one has a higher gear ratio of 1:6.2 and more bearings, while the 3000A has a spare spool and 1:4.7 ratio.
I prefer Shimano Spinning (at least in $200+ range, Stradic, Stella etc) and Daiwa baitcaster (Gekkabijin, Tatula SV TW, etc). Both make excellent reels. It will depend on personal preference and application which is better.

Both good reels but if you want lighter reel go Caldia. If you want to target large salmon etc, I'd recommend Stradic (3000+ size). When you compare Stradic 4000 to same size Caldia, it's about 50g heavier.
The Caldia 2500’s general handling is excellent, due to its lightness (225g), extreme ease of winding (no rubber o-rings to create friction) and great sensitivity. A stiff reel body and ‘Engine Plate’ construction provides amazing rigidity for such a small, light reel and all but eliminates flexing.
