27 maj 2024 · Daiwa Caldia SW 4000 vs Shimano Stradic 4000 (FM or FL) - sea fishing. I looked at reviews of these reels and could see the quality of the last version of Daiwa Caldia SW & Shimano Stradic FM not so good... Each of them have enough problems... So don't know what is better in this case...
Both good reels but if you want lighter reel go Caldia. If you want to target large salmon etc, I'd recommend Stradic (3000+ size). When you compare Stradic 4000 to same size Caldia, it's about 50g heavier. Because it is designed for toughness against larger game, it uses full metal body.

Nearly a year has passed since I took possession of a Daiwa Caldia Kix 4000 and teamed it up with a Loomis SJR843 GL3 rod. Big flathead, school jewfish and a bit of inshore pelagics spinning were the intended roles and after an estimated 300 hours of fishing, here’s my verdict.
