I've tried a lot of motion platform and in my opinion, d-box is the best. It's a true plug and play solution. The motion code is updated by the manufacturer. D-BOX also work hand in hand with game/sim developers to integrate the motion code.
D-Box doesn't use magnetic linear actuators (or as I think you are describing them). D-BOX has 3 main product lines, the 1.5", 3" and 6" and all at different capacities and to my knowledge they are all direct motor, top mount, ball screw actuators.
