D.A.M. was suddenly synonymous to German engineering and manufacturing. Every fisherman dreamt of having at least one item produced by D.A.M., and the "Quick spinning reels", were known all over the world as the synonym for quality "Made in Germany".

The nice thing about the Champion series is they cost about half the price of a comparable Ambassadeur and held up to the pressures of continuous fishing just as well as their Swedish counterpart. They truly were remarkable reels.
As DAM reels have been mentioned on the forum a couple of times recently, I'd like to show you my latest addition to the ever growing collection. I've got a complete set of the DAM Quick 110 - 550 now. These reels have been built between 1967 and 1973, so they're at least as old as myself.
