7 lis 2023 · This is a field evaluation of a Leupold VX-3HD 2.5-8x36mm CDS-ZL scope. This scope was sent to Ryan Avery for an evaluation. The ammunition used was 175gr SMK from Winchester that was personally purchased. The 20 round proof group was just over 1.3 MOA.

The most important features already existed on the 2004 VX-III Leupold series, the 2.5-8x36 Leupold of that vintage already having more optical quality than middle-aged human eyes can discern. VX-III's hold their zero, which is the most important thing any scope can do.
22 lis 2022 · Now that Leupod added $100 to all their scopes, I'm wondering if the VX-3HD 2.5-8x36 is still worth it? I know they added the zero lock, which is nice, but for $500 I'm curious what else is out there in the sub-13 oz. range a person should consider.
