27 lis 2013 · I'm curious if there are Plans - designs - books etc. availble on building cycle karts? I found a few free downloads on basic plans (the stevenson design) northern tools sells a book on building a basic gocart (frames parts etc.)
The Stevenson Design. This is the basic design that started it all and is the best place to start with your own Cyclekart design. The Stevensons formula consists of a basic chassis and a plywood body that mounts between the chassis rails.
In a practical and down-to-earth way, it covers the fundamentals of how race cars handle and the requirements for designing and constructing a car. The book includes chapters on chassis design, suspension design, frame construction, aerodynamics and tuning.
However not everyone has an automotive manufacturing background or paid attention back in metalworking class at school, and so a basic generic chassis and drivetrain design that you can base your creation on is a good idea. The classical CycleKart design is known as the 'Stevenson' design.
