Cutlery Rivets or Compression Rivets are used to secure knife handle stacks. Simply pound one side into the other at least 1/8" for a permanent bond. Use a rivet drill for drilling and countersinking. Cutlery rivets are popularly found on kitchen knives, hence the name.
We offer a selection of rivets known as "compression rivets" or "cutler's rivets". These rivets consist of a set [one male rivet and one female rivet] and are very simple to use. Simply drill 5/32" holes in the tang of the knife where you plan to fasten the handle onto with the rivets.
Commonly referred to as a "Cutlery Rivet", these 2-part press-rivets are excellent when used for knife handle fasteners. To use them, drill a through-hole through your handle material for the shaft to pass through, then create a larger stepped hole for the head to recess in.
This Cutlers rivet will fit a knife handle stack (2 scales and tang) that is .60” thick up to .95” thick when countersunk. This is going to cover nearly every knife handle thickness in your kitchen and most hunting knives. Tip: You can counter sink the heads or leave them proud.
