Use this command (change the quoted path to your liking): .\EAappInstaller.exe /i DefaultInstallFolder="D:\Games\Electronic Arts". In this case, the app gets installed in a subfolder called EA Desktop in D:\Games\Electronic Arts. Works fine here so far.
The default installation folder is "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Desktop\EA Desktop". It appears that I'm not able to change that location. When installing the program it doesn't give me the option to customize the installation directory OF THE PROGRAM.
Apparently at some point they took away the feature and have recently put it back in for the latest alpha build. Had to op in to the alpha but now I can edit the install location. I don't know what version of curse your using but I'm using the new beta that came out not to long ago.
I created a new folder on my D:\ drive called "EA Games", then I boot op EA Desktop, select the game that I want to download and then select D:\EA Games to download games in. If you're having issues with setting a custom location for your games, then this might be a good way to go about it.

Update Windows PowerShell7 - install Windows 64-bit edition from here. Run it as an administrator. Once in PowerShell navigate to the folder where you downloaded "EAappInstaller.exe" (commands are the same as in ordinary command prompt). Paste and run this command:
Choose "app configuration" (I have another language installed so I translated it, it's the seventh tab under the Origin tab) Choose "advanced" under "configuration". Over there you can find the location for your games to download and beneath it, the location for your games to install to.
