Pre-Nursing is a designation indicating interest in the nursing major and acceptance to the University does not mean acceptance into the nursing program. The School of Nursing assesses students using a points-based system, where the top 40 students with the most points are offered seats.

Apply to the School of Nursing basic BSN program through the NursingCAS (opens in new window) Online Application System. Students MUST submit official transcripts (and AP scores, if applicable) to BOTH CSU, Chico Office of Admissions, and NursingCAS.

Due to the overwhelming number of students that apply to the program, CSU, Chico School of Nursing determines eligibility by a points system. Those who have the highest number of points stand the greatest chance of being accepted into the program. There are 100 points possible from Grade (60%), TEAS (20%), Other (20%).
The cumulative grade point average for all eight nursing prerequisites, once completed, must be a minimum of 3.0. All nursing prerequisites must be completed with grades of C or higher.
