EdX always says that the course will end on Dec. 31 of the current year. In the case of CS50x, the content gets refreshed. But most of the other CS50 courses stay the same. In the case of CS50W, the lectures are all from 2020 I believe. But nothing seems particularly out of date, so I assume they’ll just roll over the same content to next year.
Since the year is almost done and cs50x 2024 is already coming, is it wiser to wait for the newest version of the course? Are there any big updates in the upcoming cs50x 2024? or I can start with the current one on the edx site?

The "Weeks" that you completed in 2023 were carried forward to 2024. You can continue the course with Week1 in the 2024 version of CS50x, following the instructions that appear in the new version of CS50x 2024 at: https://cs50.harvard.edu/x/2024/
