Follow these steps to correct an issue where Windows or the imageFORMULA Utility may not recognize the scanner properly. DETAILS OF THE PROBLEM: If connecting an imageFORMULA scanner to a computer in which a USB camera is installed, Windows may write inconsistent device IDs to the WIA registry.
11 mar 2022 · The "Readme" file included explains that it solves a Windows registry inconsistency that can keep the scanner from being recognized by Windows. So far, no further issues for me. Update: It worked for a few days, then I was back to the same old problem.
19 sie 2023 · I have always avoided the scanner and just used their site by putting in the make and model myself. Failing that, Belarc will give you the slot particulars. I would feel compelled to uninstall the scanner if I did use it, and the very few times I tried (usually with a home-built rig) it didn't work.
25 lip 2024 · When the scanner is connected to a computer with a camera or a computer that had a USB camera connected to it, the scanner may be unrecognized because Windows has imported a device ID that is incompatible with the WIA registry. Use the "Restoration Tool for Scanner Registry" to restore the registry.
The best thing to do here is open the system scan URL directly from edge to download the scan tool. Once it's downloaded, launch it directly from the browser's download manager. Works perfectly.
If an error message appears due to insufficient memory while scanning is in progress, exit the application, change the scanning conditions (e.g. reduce the resolution or page size) and then try scanning again.
