25 wrz 2024 · The following Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) and Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) codes are frequently used to bill for telehealth services. Coding guidance is subject to change.
When billing a telehealth visit, simply furnish the covered service (e.g., gait training), select the appropriate CPT code (e.g., 97116), apply the correct POS code and modifier as per the payer’s specifications, and complete the claim as normal.
The following HCPCS/CPT codes are for services furnished virtually that represent therapy services collectively termed ‘communication technology-based services’ (CTBS) – including E-visits (G2061 – G2063) and telephone assessment and management services (Codes 98966 – 98968).
Submit professional telehealth claims using the appropriate CPT or HCPCS code. If you performed telehealth through asynchronous telehealth, add the telehealth GQ modifier with the professional service CPT or HCPCS code.
