I love FamCal for this: you can add shopping lists, birthdays, to do lists, and it also has a calendar view where you can have each person colour coded so you can see your/their tasks at a glance. It can give you reminders at whatever interval you like, and repeating ones like yearly "renew car insurance" ones.
Cozi is better than Google Calendar because it’s interface and features are meant for organizing groups and families. It’s quite similar in its simple layout and design to Google Calendar. Google Calendar, on the other hand, is more suitable for going solo and having a personal calendar.
