The solution to countifs not working in this scenario is to open the closed workbook and then press F9 on the keyboard so that the formula recalculates the correct parameters. We will then get the correct count as shown in the following example.
21 cze 2016 · The formula =COUNTIF(B2:B6,"Y") will also give correct results. In your case, possibly Calculation Options has been set to Manual & hence it might not be working. Ensure that your Calculation is set to Automatic. Click the Microsoft Office Button, click Excel Options, and then click the Formulas category.

Not sure of what you are trying to do but COUNTA () will count numbers, text as well as blanks (returned by formulas). It ignored empty cells. If you wish to count only the numbers and text values (excluding blank cells), try this. =COUNTIF (I10:I5507,"*?")
