Two commands, date and format, are used to convert a string date into a numeric date. Within these functions you will need to specify how the date-time information is formatted in the string. Use upper case for day, month, and year (e.g. “DMY”) but lower case if you want to specify hours, minutes or seconds (e.g. “DMYhms”).
