17 lip 2024 · Deforestation and soil erosion are the two major immediate causes of land degradation in Ethiopia. Estimates indicate that as much as 40% of the total area of Ethiopia (Sisay and Gitima 2020) and more than 90% of the highlands (Hurni et al. 2010) were once covered by dense forests.
