I have 2 of the Defy series spinning rods, and Kalon reels for open water, and I enjoyed fishing them way more than I did my ugly stiks. Granted, I have never owned a real premium rod, but I was impressed with the 13 rods.
What have been your experiences with 13 Fishing Reels? I was originally drawn to them because of their drag system ratings, anti-corrosion and slide tech for their higher end. I have an old Inception (non G2 model) I got for a steal (<$40) and not super impressed.
