4 wrz 2014 · If you download a mod which should just auto download for you as you join server and then the map a lot of times it will crash with a iw3mp. Just restart game and join same server. It may do this each time you download a new map or mod.

I recently downloaded/installed COD 4 from Steam and everything was running fine (I've played this game and uninstalled/installed it plenty in the past, although from a CD).
16 kwi 2009 · COD4 crashes when i try to change graphics / sound settings XFire has been known to be one of the causes for this. Solution is to close XFire when making these changes.
23 paź 2024 · On some PCs, the sound driver crashes the game before it starts. Plug in a microphone. Alternatively: Go to Control Panel. Open Sound settings. Click the recording tab. Enable stereo mix (right clicking and selecting "Show disabled devices" might be needed for it to be visible).
Mostly cod4 closes without a reason because the “Stereo Mix” device is disabled. You can read about that here. Plug an old 3.5mm jack into the mic input on the back of the pc. That was my fix for ages. Something to do with the stero mix as the other comment says. Hey all!
18 mar 2011 · find out your motherboard model and download its manual. look how to get into the BIOS, and how to setup ram timings and voltage. should take less than 20 minutes to achieve, even for a complete beginner. i find that people always assume software is the problem when it comes to crashes, most of the time its hardware.
