  7. 30 sie 2008 · 4713 posts · Joined 2003. #2 · Aug 30, 2008. prolly what has happened is the cable has stretched, so you need a new one. tell your friend to get a OEM non-adjustable, and use a firewall adjuster to get it where you want it. I've went thru 3 adjustables before i caught on.
