Applicants for initial accreditation must establish that they have broad knowledge and adequate experience in immigration law and have taken at least one recent formal overview of immigration law course. CLINIC offers a course that meets this requirement: Comprehensive Overview Immigration Law (COIL) e-learning course.

CLINIC’s Comprehensive Overview of Immigration Law (COIL) e-learning course provides an overview of core immigration law concepts and legal skills to enable new practitioners to quickly learn the fundamentals of immigration law and gain the training background to help support an application for Department of Justice accreditation.
This 90 minute course covers several topics including: an overview of the Form N-400 and the requirements for naturalization; steps to complete each part of the form and prepare the naturalization application for mailing; and steps in the naturalization process, including preparing for the naturalization interview.
