I currently subscribe to both GPT-4 and Claude 3-Opus (however, I only use their chatbot versions). Therefore, my comparison focuses on the core GPT-4 model vs. Claude 3-Opus, and not GPT-4 Turbo. My primary use for AI is coding – generating templates, troubleshooting, and seeking explanations.

Claude 3 Opus slightly outperformed GPT 4.0, but I don't know how it compares to the newly released GPT 4 Turbo and I've not seen reports that the free version of Claude outperforms GPT 4 in any significant benchmanrks.
For context, I went for a paid subscription for ChatGPT4, and use the free version of Claude via poe.com. I find often that Claude's answers to day-to-day tasks (help me aid in fixing my product docs, performance appraisal, reply to a merchant esclation etc. etc.) are more natural than chatGPT.
