I’m writing this post to hopefully help xbox series x owners (might work on previous gen too) who are experiencing a fluctuant or capped download speed on their console. After literally banging my head on all of my small apartment walls and trying all possible solutions, I finally have managed to get a steady 350+ Mbit/s DS.
I have 300MB to 500MB download based on how my ISP is feeling, yet Xbox usually downloads at 3MB/S to 10MB/s, Steam and Epic downloads at 40-60. I just spent the last 2 hours looking for a fix going through all of the steps and nothing worked.
Solution 1: Check the download speed. Scroll to Installing… <the game title you're downloading>. Go to My games & apps > Manage > Queue and note the download speed shown on the game or app that’s being installed. This indicates the current download speed.

The first step to fixing slow Xbox downloads is — no surprise — to check your network connection. Slow download speeds could be a result of a poor or wrongly configured network connection. Make sure that your network connection is stable and try restarting your router as well as your Xbox to get better speed results.
Here are my results: turn off "allow downloads from other PCs. xbox app downlaod speed went from 1mbps to 10mbls. use microsoft store to download the same game, average of 50mbps. It definitely help to turn the option OFF, but the download speed of the two app is incomparable! Reply reply.
