Seven Seas have been my go to lately! There is a lot more land than the name of the map makes me think. I tried fractal today and it had much very "thin" and long shapes. More than the one in these pictures.
12 mar 2011 · Huge map. Standard settings. My answer: Not Aztec, Sumeria, or Nubia. They're still the best if some AI starts close to you. But there's so much land on the Seven Seas maps (more than Pangea) that 2/3's of the time you're off on your own, which negates their UUs.

Found out the hard way when winning a religious victory took over 300 turns on a standard map. I think I'll play seven seas on small size in the future. I was shocked when I got the timeline notification that I was the first to meet every civilization on turn 221.
I'm at work and can't get to the game for a while. Would some kind would be able to post some pictures about the seven seas map with different starting sea levels? I would love to see if it resembles a realistic planet at all :).
