22 sty 2019 · As part of an effort to improve RDF quality and reduce non-beneficial waste at the Resource Recovery System, the City of Ames applied for a forgivable loan from Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) Solid Waste Alternatives Program (SWAP).
Rechargeable batteries are accepted at no charge. Construction and demolition waste (wood, drywall, brick, concrete, etc.) is not accepted at the plant; these wastes must be taken to the Metro Park East Landfill at 12181 NE University Avenue, east of Des Moines: 515-967-2076.
