3 sie 2021 · We are replacing a WLC 4402 with a WISM2 we inherited from another department. The WLC 4402 has three interfaces. AP-manager (APs), Guest, and a secure for interior share access. I was successful in setting up the new AP-manager on the WISM2 with it's own VLAN and DHCP scope.

15 sty 2015 · Cisco 5508 controller support multi-site and would be the direct replacement for the 4402 (EoL unfortunately). This will work well with Cisco Catalyst 3650 and 3850 switches to complement controller features on each of your sites for wired and wireless convergence.
chances are you probably need to refresh your wireless access points as well if you are running a 4402 controller. why not upgrade to the new cisco APs i.e. 2800's, and use the mobility express feature. this is a virtual controller that sits over the cluster of access points.
6 wrz 2024 · How do I configure the switch to connect with the WLC? A. Configure the switch port, to which the WLC is connected, as an IEEE 802.1Q trunk port. Make sure that only the necessary VLANs are allowed on the switch.
23 sty 2024 · The information in this document is based on these software and hardware versions: Cisco Aironet 1232AG Series Lightweight AP. Cisco 4402 Series WLC that runs firmware version 5.2.178.0. This configuration works with any other Cisco WLC and any lightweight AP.
